Commercial Counselor Xu Speaks on China’s Business Opportunities

Commercial Counselor Xu Bing introduced business opportunities in China to U.S. business people at a PwC seminar, “Business Opportunities: The New Markets – China & Russia”, in New York on June 17.

In his remarks at the seminar, Mr. Xu gave a recap of the rapid development of China-U.S. economic ties over the past 3 decades, and outlined China’s responsible and effective responses to the global financial and economic crisis and their effects, as well as China’s collaboration with the U.S. Mr. Xu said that China is firmly committed to reform and opening up, supports free trade, welcomes foreign investment and encourages Chinese companies to “go global”. Mr. Xu also detailed on various trade and investment opportunities that China offers to the world, especially to U.S. business people.

Nicole Melcher, Director of U.S Commerce Department’s Office of China Economic Area also spoke at the event. Among the attendees are representatives from companies such as IBM, Citigroup, GE Energy and Sony and law firms.
