Consul-General Peng Keyu remarked and cut ribbon in the inaugural ceremony for the Continental Airlines’ New York - Shanghai daily nonstop flights

Consul-General Peng Keyu attended the inaugural ceremony for the Continental Airlines’ New York - Shanghai daily nonstop flights. He presented remarks and cut ribbons in the ceremony.



In his remarks, Consul-General expressed his sincere wishes for the new flights that links the world’s financial center and top business and tourism destination with China’s center for finance and trade. With the upcoming World Expo to be held in Shanghai in 2010, the mutual cooperation and economic ties between U.S. and China will be strengthened continuously in the coming years. Consul-General also extended his most heartfelt congratulations to Continental Airlines for opening the new flights between U.S. and China and wished success to the nonstop New York – Shanghai service.



Mr. Jeffery Smisek, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Continental Airlines, said in his speech that Continental Airlines is very confident for China’s economy and flight market. Therefore, they tried every method to successfully open the new service from New York to Shanghai.

The inaugural ceremony arranged Chinese traditional culture performance.

Commercial Counselor Xu Bing also attended the event.
