The 2nd Annual Ohio Global Summit was held on August 26 by the Ohio Department of Development's Global Markets Division at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in the State of Ohio. The summit covered more than four sessions focusing on emerging markets, export financing, international logistics and international business negotiations, etc. Commercial Counselor Bing XU addressed in the summit at the Emerging Market Session and introduced the business environment in China and the most recent updates of Sino-U.S. cooperation in trade and investment.
Counselor Xu also exchanged opinions with Deborah Scherer, the Director of Global Market Division of Ohio Department of Development, on many issues including how to provide assistance in the current economic scenario to the business entities which are involving in bilateral trade and commercial activities. Governor Ted Strickland honored Exporting Awards to Ohio-based companies and organizations that have achieved international success with this prestigious award. It is a large portion of total export output in the whole country that has come from the State of Ohio. Being 6.9% higher than the last year, the export output of Ohio in 2008 totaled 45.5 billion USD and ranked No.7 among the 50 states of the U.S.
