| 105th Canton Fair Hold Promotion Events in New York and Philadelphia |

The 105th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) held promotion events in Philadelphia and New York on March 19 and March 20.
The New York promotion event was co-hosted by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Consulate General of China in New York and the China Foreign Trade Center, and organized by China General Chamber of Commerce–USA. The event received great support from government agencies and industrial associations in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Bing Xu, Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General of China in New York, addressed the event. In his speech, Mr. Xu reviewed the rapid development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations over the past three decades since the establishment of China-U.S. diplomatic relations and applauded the great achievements made by the Canton Fair in the last half century. Counselor Xu also expressed his views on some issues of concern in China-U.S. bilateral economic and trade ties such as RMB exchange rate and trade imbalance. Mr. Xu called for resistance to trade protectionism and urged joint efforts to further China-U.S. trade and economic relations. At the end of the event, Mr. Xu was interviewed by a number of local media about China-U.S. trade.
Mr. Natapoff, Senior Vice President of Empire State Development Corporation, Mr. Jaffe, President of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from New Jersey Economic Development Authority and New York City Economic Development Corporation also addressed the event. Mr. Li Xiaojing, President of China General Chamber of Commerce-USA and General Manager of Bank of China (U.S.A.) moderated the meeting.
During their visit to Philadelphia, the China Foreign Trade Center delegation met with local business representatives at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and briefed them on the 105th Canton Fair.
